Our main topic for this short term (only 23 school days!!) is the history and development of trains and the railway network over time. This will include ordering the development and inventions of the various train types, learning how and why they were developed. They will look at and make comparisons between steam locomotives and the iconic steam trains of Britain. The children will look at maps of rail networks and learn about how they were constructed as well as the positive and negative impacts which their development has had on the landscape and us as a society.
You can more about the learning we have planned in the weeks ahead in our Newsletter.
